Jaded book tour: interview

This is a tour stop of Jaded. Hosted by bewitchingbooktours.
Let the interview begin with Kenya Carlton

What inspired you to write Jaded?
I love horror books, paranormals, and mysteries.  Jaded was a ghost story that was in my head for awhile just scratching to get out.

Who is the artist[s], fanboying here! Lol
When I figure that out, I’ll let you know, promise.

What was your favorite scene[s] to write in Jaded?
If I had to pick just one, my absolute favorite scene was the reveal of who killed Jade. Since all of her scenes were clues and pieces to the whole puzzle, I would have to say I enjoyed writing anything that had to do with Jade Demarro.

What got you in to reading and at what age? What sort of books did you like reading as a child?
Around eight or nine was the age that I really got into reading.  I wasn’t a big reader before then and admitted as much to an aunt.  She told me you are stupid if you don’t read.   To prove to her that I wasn’t stupid, I started with the Fantastic Mr. Fox.  Thanks, Auntie Barbara!  Pick your own ending books were big when I was growing upand anything by Judy Blume and Beverly Cleary.

Do you have a set routine when you are writing? Are you a plotter or just write what the characters feel like?
My routine is to plot out all my books before I begin to write them.  The course is set and ready to go, but sometimes a winding road comes up or a bridge may be out that I didn’t quite anticipate.  My characters are usually versatile enough to navigate around the detours and road blocks.

Have you any other books in the making at the moment?
At the moment I’m working on the follow up to Sweet as Sin.  I wanted the readers to get a more in-depth look at the main characters Sienna and Drake.

What are you currently reading, have finished or on your wish list?
I’m currently reading Jennifer Estep’sSpider Bite.  On deck areSue Grafton’sV and Victoria Laurie’s Ghoul Interrupted.

Any song[s] that fit perfectly with carnal/scenes/characters or the book itself?
Dim the lights grab a tasty treat and hit play on anything from Billie Holiday or Nina Simone .

Why should we read Jaded?Jaded is a good laid back read.  A contemporary ghost story with the sweet appeal of mystery and romance sprinkled on top.  Anyone who wants to get a few tingles and root for the good guy and cheer the romance of the Mia and Gabe should pick up a copy of Jaded.

Vanilla or chocolate?
Chocolate all day long…
Summer or winter?
Summer
Xmas or Halloween?
Halloween by a smidge because it’s the true sign of fall which then gives us Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. I mean who doesn’t love going out with the old and in with the new every year?
Vampires, faeries or zombies?
Vampires-I really hate Zombies. Facebook has a zombie game and I scored master zombie hunter.  Seriously, don’t get bit by one because I’ll have to shoot you.
