My thoughts

Cover: Purple, purple . I love purple. It is the color I adore. The cover is not that bad, yes there is a bare chested man with a top hat but the clockwork in the background balances it out.// lol its blue . lol . my pardon

Book: Bunnies are fuzzy and cute right. Imagine being attacked by fuzzy white/brownish bunnies that eat you to the bone. They are hungry for blood, your red human blood is the loveliest there is. But wait there are far worst creatures , the ugly fat red brown rats are the worst. Welcome to Sang.

Tish Everett is a 25 year old nurse, she freed herself from the clutches of a controlling long period boyfriend Jeff. She finds a locket at the house of a deceased patient. A beautifully crafted locket and with the help of some elbow grease it finally clicks open. Beneath the lid is a mysterious , dangerously sexy painted portrait of young man near his 30’s. Tish walls asleep after an exhausting day. When she wakes up she sees an odd world. It has a very Victorian vibe to it. In fact she has stumbled in 1900th Sang . A place were bludmen and pinkies (humans from Sang) live alongside each other. The bludmen are 2nd grade citizens. A wealthy madman is out to kill them all. Will tish stay with criminy [ the dude in the portrait ]after they have stopped him , or will she go back to earth?

The world building was lovely luscious. There were steampunk machines and clockwork animals. I wanted to know more and more and I hope more will be known in sequel books.
The plot was like a bloodlust enraged Alice in wonderland. A adult alice w/ blood creatures. Things that seemed unnecessary got tied up in the end

There are two Tish in Wicked as they come. Ok , let me explain . She has two lives; Tish the nurse and Letita the glancer . She is a strong woman and is not a damsel in distress. Great heroine.

Criminy is slick as an eel and clever as Reinhardt, the fox ( a dutch folktale). And mysterious and uber sexy ( what i\ve ‘’heard’’ from fellow book ppl ) but in all that he never loses the gentleman inside him.

This romance is a slowburner. In my opinion. It is labled pnr on the spine but to me it is UF. The romance never crushes the plot. They are sexy times in this book but not every 50 pages. After each ahum, they grow closer to each other. Great character development

I really liked the secondary characters from pemberly, Crim’s clockwork monkey ( you rock pem), to the lizard boy to the pinky strong man . I wish they had more development but I still liked the whole crew.

Book two will be out next year and I can’t wait. I hope we get to see cameos of Tish and Crim. Are you exited to enter Sang? That’s bloody marvelous. *grins with bloodstained teeth*

Review: The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

The Perks of Being a Wallflower
by Stephen Chbosky
Published by MTV Books and Pocket Books
Date published : February 1st 1999
Source: won
Rating : 4.3/5

AMAZON// BOOKDEPO

Synopsis:standing on the fringes of life offers a unique perspective…but there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor. since its publication, stephen chbosky’s haunting debut novel has received critical acclaim, provoked discussion and debate, grown into a cult phenomenon with over a million copies in print, and inspired a major motion picture.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a story about what it’s like to travel that strange course through the uncharted territory of high school. the world of first dates, family dramas, and new friends. of sex, drugs, and the rocky horror picture show. of those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up

My thoughts:

Cover: the ‘’boring’’ cover makes it stand out in a sea of girls in pretty dresses. I’d rather have this . that’s just me

Book: A 15 year old kid will start his first year of high school . And is very nervous . He writes letters to an anonymous person. Charlie is socially akward. A loner and meets two wonderful people he befriends Sam and Patrick. A heck of a lot happens to summarize it .

I’ve read reviews and I believe some people will get bored reading it . Charlie s not a buccaneering pirate but a kind ‘’boring’’ 15 year old. Admit it our lives are not that interesting. I loved TPOBAW because it is filled with human emotions. There are a lot social issues. My only complaint is that there too much to fully develop in 200 pages. I could not fully connect with the side characters , mostly with the trio.
I can’t wait for the the movie

Lexi’s great-great-grandfather was a Spellmason—an artisan who could work magic on stone. But in his day, dark forces conspired against him and his, so he left a spell of protection on his family. Now that Lexi is in danger, the spell has awoken her ancestor’s most trusted and fearsome creation: a gargoyle named Stanis.
Lexi and Stanis are equally surprised to find themselves bound to each other. But as they learn to work together, they realize that only united can they save the city they both love…
I've been re watching Gargoyles by disney , this summer. I fell in love with it again. I have never read about Gargoyles before and the re watching has me more pumped for this book.

Tribulation (Rapture Trilogy #2)
by Phillip W. Simpson
Published by Pear Jam books
Date to be published: 2012//not set yet

Synopsis:Directly following the Rapture is a seven year period known as the Tribulation. Those who have been left behind essentially endure ‘hell on earth’ during those seven years.
The world is racked by earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and all other manner of natural disasters. Demons stalk the Earth by night, capturing the remaining humans and either converting them to worship of the Devil, or killing them. Most humans have fled the cities and now hide in caves deep in the mountains. It is a post-apocalyptic world in the truest sense of the word.
The world is now very hot, almost hell-like in its oppressive heat. Clouds are perpetually in the sky. It continually rains ash. There are fires everywhere. Plants and animals are dying. Food is scarce. The remnants of humanity are fighting for survival. There have been massive earthquakes which have damaged or destroyed many buildings. Every volcano in the world has erupted. The moon (when it can be seen) is blood red. There are no stars in the sky.
The story focuses on a 18 year old teenage boy, Sam (short for Samael). Sam was raised in the town of Jacob’s Ladder, Utah. It is – appropriately enough – near to a place of natural scenic beauty called Devil’s garden.
Sam is half demon. His mother, a devout Christian, was seduced by Satan and conceived his child. She manages to smuggle the boy to an old friend – Hikari – a Japanese sword master and demon expert. Hikari has a daughter, Aimi, whom Sam finds himself gradually falling in love with.
When the Rapture occurs, Hikari and Aimi are taken to heaven. Sam is left alone in the post-apocalyptic world without his morale anchors

I've been waiting a year for the cover. I know it is practically the same cover but look hell hounds. iiiiiii
There is Christianity mixed with eastern beliefs but it is not a religious book or preachy , well at least book 1  was not .Rapture, book1, was on of my top 5 book of 2011 and i can't wait for the followup of Sam's story.
