Vaclav and Lena by

Haley tanner

Published : May 17 2011, The Dial Press

Genre: Contemporary Young adult

Set in New York's Russian émigré community, Vaclav & Lena is a timeless love story from a stunningly gifted young novelist.

Vaclav and Lena, both the children of Russian émigrés, are at the same time from radically different worlds. While Vaclav's burgeoning love of performing magic is indulged by hard-working parents pursuing the American dream, troubled orphan Lena is caught in a domestic situation no child should suffer through. Taken in as one of her own by Vaclav's big-hearted mother, Lena might finally be able to blossom; in the naive young magician's eyes, she is destined to be his "faithful assistant"...but after a horrific discovery, the two are ripped apart without even a goodbye. Years later, they meet again. But will their past once more conspire to keep them apart?

the cover is unique , no faces or people. Looks like its scrap booked. And recently finished Virtuosity by Jessica Martinez, loved so i want to read more contemporary. its historical to( i think). double like <3 <3

In Too Deep  by

Amanda Grace

Publication date : February 8 2012 , Flux

Genre: Contemporary Young adult

I never meant for anyone to get hurt. All I wanted to do that night was make a play for Carter Davis. His heartless rejection was mortifying, but people got the wrong idea when they saw me leaving his bedroom, crying. That’s how rumors of rape started.

Now girls at school are pouring out their sympathy to me. Guys too. But not everyone’s on my side. The school has become a war zone and the threats are getting scary. What began as poetic justice has morphed into something bigger-forcing me to make a terrible choice

the lighting is pretty cool and the stairs its contemporary, really want to know what got her IN TOO DEEP, looking forward to 2012
