Synopsis:Jackson Godspeed is the hottest young Angel in a city filled with them.
He's days away from becoming a full Guardian, and people around the world are already competing for the chance to be watched over by him. Everyone's obsessed with the Angels and the lucky people they protect - everyone except for Madison Montgomery.
Maddy's the one girl in Angel City who doesn't breathlessly follow the Angels on TV and gossip blogs. When she meets Jackson, she doesn't recognize him. But Jackson is instantly captivated by her, and against all odds the two fall in love.
Maddy is swiftly caught up in Jackson's scene, a world of glamour, paparazzi - and murder. A serial killer is on the loose, leaving dead Angels' wings for the police to find on the Walk of Fame. Even the Guardians are powerless to protect themselves in the face of this threat & and this time it's up to Maddy to save Jackson

My thoughts

Cover: Masculinity flows from the cover. A great pose and strong white/grey wings with cool scenery in the background

Book: Authors are people. People who pen down books.A lot of those are awesome books. Some writers become celebrity in the book world for ex J.K Rowling and Stephenie Meyer .Hollywood celebs are people. A couple of their books have appeared on bookshelves in stores. Some on YA shelves. A lot of readers treat celeb fiction like the plague. I agree some look like trash for example snooki's Jersey Shore fairy tale-esque book written by a ghostwriter. I'm honest to say that i'm weary and hesitant of the Kardashians' YA dystopian out next year. But ,there is a huge BUT people can write great to amazing books. No matter their background. This written down spark, idea, story is one of them.

the 1st time I heard of Im City it drew me in

1st reason: there is a male point of view
2nd : a murder mystery
3th angels

Imagine a world were we idolize Angels. They don't star in movies or tv shows/ They protect us from harm for a prize.Only a select few are under there protection, the mega rich. And every one want a piece of that pie. There are lotteries for protection or shows that are a equivalent of survivor to secure an angel. LA , the HQ. This is Angel City.Jackson Godspeed , our main man is days away to take his place in the ranks of the prestigious Guardians. But horrible things happen. Torn bloody angel wings are deposited on the walk of fame stars of their owners.A murder is on the loose and trough circumstances he meets Maddy. One of the few people not obsessed with the glamour and glitz of the angels, maybe the only girl in Angel City. Will they find the murder before Jackson is next on the chopping block?

I loved how Scott Speer re-imagined LA.It was fun seeing everything angel-fied ranging from ANN(Angel News Network) to Angels Weekly.Very enjoyable after you get used to it. The use of 3th person in multiple (3) point of views was a great method to see a bigger picture at the very end.You get to see how all the pieces fell in to place but still some curiosities left open for the sequel.

Maddy and Jacks are from two different worlds and differ immensely but make each other stronger in the end. I loved how Maddy was herself and not in too the Angel craze but disliked that she had preconceived notions but changed trough out the novel. They are living breathing creatures with emotions. In all the fame and splendor that can make people change, Jacks is level headed,a normal teen ,kind and cares for her. They fell in love at the very end.Real conversations were repeatedly seen and no long stretches of staring at each other was in sight.

The the person that i suspected was complete utter bs when it was revealed who the murderer was. Very scary and bleak at that very moment.Intense, intense intense.

Immortal city had romance, action, suspense and had a detective feel to it. A lot more than your typical run of the mill paranormal/angel book. A lot of though went it too it and the book that surprised the most this year. I can't wait for march to read book two.

my thoughts
Cover: A pretty decent cover. Are those wings? I loved the red hue

Book:I was in the mood for an angel book thus requested it on netgalley.Sad it was disappointing. The religious undertones were not a problem , the characters were.

I always try to finish a book and finishing this one was grueling. The love triangle was annoying. I tried not to be a cynic while reading the reading romance and ended up laughing.[ i'm rarely cynical] I tried to like it but sadly no success.

The MC is supposed to be an rocking kick butting heroine but was in fact one the whiny bunch. Which boy am i going to choose, which "brother".

Yeah falling in love is forbiden and  is dangerous for there souls . Gimme a break. I do have to say the youngest "brother" is the best of the bunch and the funniest.Really he is a Hoot.

The prologue was freaking amazing , exiting. A chase. Nikki is being chased by hell hounds. And then the "brothers" appear . The halflings. WHY,WHY,WHY could the rest not exceed the prologue. The rest felt like reading a textbook, the prologue excluded.Flat and boring

A couple of people loved.Sad i did not. I read raving reviews. If you are interested.Give it a try.Maybe you are the one that will love it.

thanks to Zonderkidz for approving my request of Halflings

My thoughts

Cover: A really likeable cover. The raven give it a ominous, something is lurking feel. I know don’t judge a book by its cover and have to say yes the Dude angel and raven got my attention.

Book: The book tour signup was posted on YA Bound. I immediately signed up because On a dark wing was on my wish list and for me as an Int books are hard to come by. This is a 4 stars review. I think I just lucky reading great and good books after each other

A horrible accident happened a few years ago. Abby survived, her mom didn’t. She got ‘’lucky’’. And Death does not forget

Abby, our leading lady was not appreciate to her dad and Tanner, her best friend. Probably cause of the accident. I did not feel for her but after a while you feel her honesty and such and started to like her.

Tanner Lange, is our co protagonist and best friend a computer genius and in a wheelchair. But a hot nerd. I’ve to say I’m pretty good looking myself ha ha [ego boast lol]. I really really really really really[ ok enough really’s lol] liked him and you can ‘’taste and feel’’ his love and friendship towards Abby in the ‘air’’

Nate is a very important character and co narrator. A popular and boy next door type. He was ok , I did not get to feel his ‘’him’’ , his ‘’soul’[pretty philosophical right, lol] although loved his interaction with his little sister zoey . A great big brother.

And Death, that’s his name ; nothing less or more. I felt a little pity , I said a little pity c’mon he’s the death. His loneliness and how he sees the us..

This book was in 3th person and 3 pov’s ; Abby, Tanner and Nate. Liked all of their voices especially Tanner. I liked his chapters the most. There were emotional scenes but did not feel at times and liking Abby at first decreased the rating. This is a paranormal Young adult with a touch, a dazzle of contemporary. Liked the raven after each chapters pictured.

There is love, a lot. Parental[Yay , the parents are present , sisterly- brotherly and friendship and of course romance. There’s infatuation but that’s a other thing. Love the relationship of Abby and her dad after it strengthened. And romance with the person you don’t expect. I found the perfect song

I’m glad I had this experience and would love to read her other books.

Thank you Netgalley and Harlequin Teen for approving my request. And YA bound for letting my partake in booktour. This an 100% honest review

A song that fits perfectly with this book and does generate a atmosphere.

Awakened by Ednah Walters, A Nephilim love story(with a lot of action)

Published August 22nd 2010 by Pill Hill Press
Most teens turn sixteen and get the license to drive, but Lil Falcon gets the license to kill demons. Orphaned as a child and raised by an eccentric grandfather, Lil is concerned with surviving high school and is unaware that she's a Guardian-a being with super powers charged with killing demons and protecting humanity. When she meets Bran, a mysterious boy with amazing abilities, his psi energy unlocks her latent powers. But Bran has a secret that can ruin their growing relationship, and the truth she discovers may destroy everything she believes in unless she finds the right balance between love and sacrifice.

My toughts:

Bookcover:. Wats wrong with this cover? Nothing . This cover looks intense. (The dude is bran btw.) Huge wings, lol.

Book:
The prologue was really good , The synopsis intrigued me like a great synopsis should . We get to meet lil falcon and bran immediately. (I had the tendency to read little falcon instead of lil falcon trough the first chapters but later I got used to her name.)
Lil accepted who she was and did not hide her gypsy heritage, that was cool. I loved that she was a good friend to her friends. Most of all Not a WHINY lass.

Sykes and Remy , two of the side characters who acted immature , and funny and are witty. And enjoying like brothers towards lil, but loved her as a sis.what do you expect from teenage brothers there annoying lol. The other side characters were really enjoyable and needed to create a wonderful tale. Grandpa, Izyy, Kim and others

The romance is brief in all the action . It not gagging for a boy . Lets me honest Boys don’t read as as girls . With romance all most non existent . Lil and bran felt like real people , real teens. And have to say Bran is the perfect gentlemen , although grandpa was a bit hesitant , I can imagine he only has her left , you will find out why if u read it

Found a song that fits with a beloved scene of this book, for those who read it its the mountain scene at night ,the first date.
It’s from  lady antebellum , here it is

The fighting scenes were Amazing , was on the edge of my seat , the tempo was good not to quickly but did not drag at all. Sadly did not find a good song for those scenes

The bad guys were bad/evil but I felt like there was some good somewhere. You will find out a lot of family history and a lot of question will be stirred upp.

Got book for two as a gift  from  Ednah Walters, will read it soon and review it
Give this book a  5 Stars out of 5
