In My Mailbox #6

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme to share what we bought, checked out, swapped, or won. IMM is hosted by The Story Siren . I decided to add the synopsis of the books.

Airel (The Airel Saga #1) by Aaron Patterson

Publication date:August 31st 2011 by StoneHouse Ink

All Airel ever wanted was to be normal, to disappear into the crowd. But bloodlines can produce surprises, like an incredible ability to heal. Then there's Michael Alexander, the new guy in school, who is impossibly gorgeous;and captivated by her. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she can hear the sound of pages turning, and another, older story being written. It is the story of an ancient family, of great warriors, of the Sword of Light, and the struggle against an evil so terrible, so far-reaching, that it threatens everything. Airel knew change would be an inevitable part of life. But can she hold on when murder and darkness begin to close in and take away everything she loves? Will she have what it takes when the truth is finally revealed?

New Girl by Paige Harbison

Publication  Date: January 31st 2012 by HarlequinTeen

They call me 'New Girl'...
Ever since I arrived at exclusive, prestigious Manderly Academy, that’s who I am. New girl. Unknown. But not unnoticed—because of her.
Becca Normandy—that’s the name on everyone’s lips. The girl whose picture I see everywhere. The girl I can’t compare to. I mean, her going missing is the only reason a spot opened up for me at the academy. And everyone stares at me like it’s my fault.
Except for Max Holloway—the boy whose name shouldn’t be spoken. At least, not by me. Everyone thinks of him as Becca’s boyfriend…but she’s gone, and here I am, replacing her. I wish it were that easy. Sometimes, when I think of Max, I can imagine how Becca’s life was so much better than mine could ever be.
And maybe she’s still out there, waiting to take it back

Strawberries and the Beast by April Moone

Publication Date: October 10th by Dreamspinners Press

Reckless, flamboyant Keigo is bisexual . Blunt, aloof Masaki is straight. Their conflicting personalities make them unlikely friends, but after some careful maneuvering on Keigo’s part and one strawberry-flavored kiss, Masaki gives more of himself to Keigo than he ever thought possible. More than he’s willing to share with his girlfriend. But Masaki’s fear of commitment threatens to shake their rocky relationship to pieces.

Keigo’s new feelings for Masaki are confusing enough even before his on-again, off-again lover, Kaname, blows back into town. Kaname is a manipulative beast, demanding Keigo’s undying fidelity in return for his cruelty, and Keigo’s fragile relationship with Masaki cracks under the weight of his presence. If Keigo really wants to build a life with Masaki, he’ll have to discover the strength to free himself of Kaname and convince Masaki to be with him forever.

WidowMaker: A Book to Just Die For by y Elena Gray and Cristn West

Publication Date:

'WidowMaker' is horror at its best. Fun, clever, and SCARY. The suspense is unrelenting and the action punctuated by humor held you in its grip the entire ride that is 'WidowMaker.'

"From the first page to the last, 'WidowMaker' rocks, out loud. Part thriller, part horror and completely awesome, 'WidowMaker' is filled with great characters and situations that are just impossible enough to believe. You can't find a better read for Halloween."

"A film that kills people? Yep, we were right there for it. And how West and Gray weave such a great suspense tale amongst all the carnage is truly brilliant. And of course, we appreciated the sexual tension between the F.B.I. agent and his ex-fiance. I have no idea how you could create a sequel, but we want one!"

Overview
"Terror in the Trees," the latest uber-low budget slasher flick is slaying people... literally. But is it all hype or is there an evil force behind the supposed deaths? Special Agent Bolder had best find out before the President attends the Hollywood premiere...

"I had to stop reading in parts, it was just too scary! Of course two minutes later my nose was back into my Kindle, reading more. I had to know the end. I love it when I can't put a book down, no matter how much I want to!"
RachelintheOC
Author, "A Walk in the Snark"

"Gritty, creepy, and horrifying, all in one book. That pretty much sums up 'WidowMaker. It has been a long time since I read a book that made me jump at every little noise in the house, but this one did. Great job West and Gray!"
Amber Scott
Author of "Fierce Dawn"

If you enjoy Stephen King, John Saul, or Richard Matheson you are going to love Widowmaker!

Other Cristyn West Thrillers...
**All Hallow's Eve: The one night it is BAD... to be good.
**Plain Jane: Brunettes Beware. A Patterson-style thriller with a dash of Hannibal.
**Rook: Let's Stop the Apocalypse People - a Supernatural Thriller
**The Evil Within: A Horror Anthology. Cristyn has both "Dark Lullaby," a Harbinger short story and "Supper," a gore-fest bonus short. Elena also has her short "Highland Chills," as well along with 6 other great horror shorts
