The Book Thief by

Markus Zusak

Publication date: March 14th 2006 , Knopf Books for Young Readers

Genre: Historical young adult

It’s just a small story really, about among other things: a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. . . .

Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak’s groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can’t resist–books. With the help of her accordion-playing foster father, she learns to read and shares her stolen books with her neighbors during bombing raids as well as with the Jewish man hidden in her basement before he is marched to Dachau.

This is an unforgettable story about the ability of books to feed the soul.

Heard great things about it, just heard of it this year. when i stumbled upon goodreads.com. love historical fiction i heard its very emotional . count me in

Viking Warrior (The Strongbow Saga #1) by

Judson Roberts

Publication date: June 1st 2007 , HarperTeen

Genre: Historical young adult

He's the son of a chieftain and a princess—yet Halfdan was born a slave.
Now he is becoming a man and it is time for him to meet his destiny.
Though raised a slave who could only dream of freedom, young Halfdan's fate may be about to change. If freed, he may train as a Viking warrior, and come to know the glories of true brotherhood and the horrors of unspeakable evil. In the world of Vikings, a warrior's destiny is forged in the heat of battle. If the fates decree it, Hafdan may emerge as a new hero . . . a new myth . . . and perhaps a new legend.
i'm in a historical mood and always have loved history. i think this is more medieval. likey. cool sword  and how can you say no to that hot gorgeous face . highlight if you wanna know
